BioMar Fish Feed Facility

Wesley Vale TAS

The BioMar Fish Feeding Facility consisted of reclaiming a vacant timber veneer facility located at Wesley Vale and undertake a major redevelopment. Construction works included the construction of a six story processing plant, dosing silos, intake pit, oil tanks and bunded area, administration building, biofilter and fan room, alterations and re-cladding to all existing warehouses, new loading docks and associated civil works.

Construction of the new multi-level Processing Plant was unique in both the size and volume of the building as well as the fact that it required close coordination with the client for the large plant and equipment that was required to be installed throughout the course of the build. All the specialized plant and equipment was sourced from overseas, so the schedule for this posed some constant challenges for the project team to ensure works progressed on a very tight schedule, without building the equipment out.

The administration building incorporates the reception, breakout rooms, multiple office areas/rooms, changeroom amenities, meeting rooms and laboratory.

The six story processing plant houses the specialized plant and equipment required for BioMar’s product range. The processing plant consisted of large steelwork sections, concrete precast panels, insulated wall and roof paneling, concrete floor slabs on bondek, internal/external stairs, heavy duty elevator, control room and multiply levels of MCC rooms.

Thanks to our client BioMar, project consultants, dedicated subcontractors and our team at Vos for the successful completion of this challenging project.
