New Bridgewater Bridge Precast Facility

Bridgewater
Bridge
Development

The Cove Hill Road Precast Facility project, part of the New Bridgewater Bridge development, involved building two 6,000m² sheds with 19m height and zero-deflection slabs for precise precast segments. The facility featured 4 internal gantry cranes (16-tonne capacity) and a 12,500m² yard for double-stacking 350 bridge segments (60-90 tonnes).

A 25m-high external gantry crane, spanning 40m, was also installed. Cranes were supplied by Victorian manufacturer Eilbeck Cranes, with local installation.

Delivered in 14 months (9 months on-site), the project was a result of strong collaboration with Brighton Council, JMG, and McConnell Dowell.
