Liveat

Launceston

Vos Construction & Joinery were engaged to carry out the construction of a new Liveat store in Kings Meadows, Launceston. The project involved the amalgamation of two adjacent tenancies including structural works to create an opening between the existing spaces, rationalisation of services and ensuring a seamless transition between all levels and finishes.

The works were undertaken in an existing retail complex where consideration had to be made in working around existing businesses, an operating car park and footpath access to the general public. Limited space was available for construction site access and amenities therefore making co-ordination and programming of sub-contractors, deliveries and public safety essential. Strong consultation was undertaken by the site manager regarding noisy and disruptive works with the surrounding businesses, especially the adjacent massage therapy business that required special attention to help maintain a relaxing environment for their customers.

Once the new floor area had been established between the existing tenancies, the project involved the construction of a new commercial kitchen, relocation of amenities, new service area, display cabinets, dining area and shopfront in line with the Liveat franchise requirements. The quality of the internal fit out achieved high praise from the client where we were required to install various elements that had been sourced and provided by them, including recycled sugar gum from Victoria, joinery booths, feature tiling and stainless steel equipment and linings.
